Simple NeuroGraphica Exercise

Experience how drawing changes your mind in just 5 minutes. No art skills needed—just paper, marker, and an open mind.

What You'll Need:

A short list:
  • Paper (any size)
  • Pen or marker
  • 5-10 minutes of quiet time
Step-By-Step Instructions
  • Step 1: Draw Your Problem
Draw your problem as chaotic lines or an irregular shape on the paper.

How: Let your hand move freely—no rules, no perfection. The messier, the better. These lines represent the tension, confusion, or chaos you're feeling.

Tip: Don't think too much. Just draw what the problem feels like.

  • Step 2: Contain It in a Circle
Draw a circle around all the lines or shapes you just created. Enclose the entire problem inside this circle.
    Why this works:
By placing your problem inside a circle, you're signaling to your brain two powerful things:
    1. The problem is contained — it has boundaries, it's not infinite
    2. The circle represents harmony — your brain recognizes the circle as a symbol of wholeness and resolution
This simple act begins the shift.
  • Step 3: Extend Lines to the Circle's Edge
Take all the sharp ends of your lines and extend them gently until they touch the edge of the circle.
How: Every line that stops in the middle should continue flowing until it meets the circle's boundary.
Why: This creates connection and flow—no loose ends, no unresolved energy.
  • Step 4: Round All Intersections
Carefully round every point where lines cross or meet. Smooth out all the sharp angles.
How: At each intersection, draw a small rounded curve instead of leaving sharp corners.
Why: Rounding releases tension. Each rounded intersection tells your nervous system: "It's safe. It's resolved. It's harmonious."

  • Step 5: Pause and Notice
Take a moment. Look at your drawing.
    Notice:
    • How does your body feel now compared to when you started?
    • What's different in your mind?
    • Do you feel lighter? Calmer? Clearer?
This is neuroplasticity at work — you've just rewired a pattern in your brain through simple, mindful drawing.
  • Step 6 (Optional): Expand Into a Full NeuroGraphica Algorithm
For those already familiar with NeuroGraphica basics:
You can expand this simple exercise into a complete NeuroGraphica algorithm by adding:
NeuroLines — Add flowing, organic lines throughout your drawing to activate neural connections and create movement.
Color — Intuitively choose colors and fill areas of your drawing, following the main NeuroGraphica coloring rule. Color engages different parts of your brain and deepens the change.
Field Lines — Draw soft, wavy background lines that unify the entire composition and create energetic flow.
Figure of Fixation — Add a focal point (circle, shape, or symbol) that represents your desired outcome or resolution.
What To Expect:
Many people report feeling:

✓ A sense of calm or relief
✓ Mental clarity where there was confusion
✓ A shift in perspective on the problem
✓ Emotional release or lightness
